TOKORO WHISKY BAR - TURNING LIQUID TO GOLD

This month, Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong engages guests with the vibrant addition of its new whisky bar, Tokoro, a class act alongside its Robatayaki restaurant.
Showcasing a classy wooden whisky wall set in copper hues, the Whisky Bar is a stimulating choice for discerning single malt lovers to unwind and appreciate over 80 aged gold liquids from Scotland, Ireland, the United States and Japan. Tokoro will continue to evolve its selection to include even more rare, sought-after vintages in its whisky portfolio and brings with it 48 crystal lockers for guests to purchase their preferred bottle and store, for up to 6 months. Lockers are numbered with an 8 with prices starting at $888 up to $8,888 for lucky locker 888. General Manager Shaun Campbell says, “Langham Place is all about leading guests through stimulating and innovative experiences. From the fun and interactive whisky flavour maps on the glass windows to the creative pairing of amber liquids with Japanese Robatayaki, sushi and maki rolls, pata negra and our homemade gourmet chocolates, we continuously surprise our guests". Tokoro – Robatayaki & Whisky Bar organises artistic whisky dinners regularly to allow for creative pairing with Japanese cuisine, no doubt satisfying experimental palettes. “For trendier whisky amateurs, our guest whisky ambassadors lead guests through a journey to unveil the secrets of this water of life”, Joey Tsang, Langham Place Hotel’s Whisky Girl comments. Joining Langham Place Hotel in early 2010, Whisky Girl Joey Tsang is a whisky enthusiast. As one of the very few young female members of The Hong Kong Sommelier Association, she has gained recognition amongst guests with her professional whisky and wine knowledge. Seeing this next big drinking trend, Joey has developed impressive and innovative ideas on whisky appreciation.
