GET GREENER AT LANGHAM PLACE, MONGKOK, HONG KONG

Dynamic lifestyle hotel, Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong has launched how to grow your own organic garden as a program not only to decorate and beautify the hotel’s rooftop, but also bring awareness to living a healthier lifestyle and sense of community to its talent. The Rooftop Organic Garden is now accessible to all hotel staff, educating and teaching organic gardening and offering consultant support and classes. Along with the nurturing, gardeners will have the pleasure to experience the life cycle of their own plant, caring for it on a regular basis. All vegetation are edible and ideally grown to consume once ripe. As a reward, each gardener will have the opportunity to bring their own grown plant home, with the aim of inspiring one to continue the raising and growth of their plants, and continue the eco-process.

Riding on this locavore movement, Langham Place hotel’s chefs have taken a bold venture to plan their own Chef’s Organic Garden next month. Located at the hotel’s well-known outdoor deck, The Backyard, the garden will feature a diversity of culinary herbs, spices and vegetables, readily available to add to a favourite dish or drink. Executive Chef, West, for the vibrant hotel, Paul McLoughlin, mentions “The garden will allow us to get up close and personal with the freshest ingredients grown with our own hands, and allow pairings with whatever guests wish to have on menu, giving them a true taste of their dish.” Langham Place hotel have gone a step further to recycle fallen leaves and food waste for soil composition, reusing them to fertilise existing vegetation.

For all guests driving with a green attitude, Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong steps in as the first hotel in Hong Kong offering to pump up their electrical vehicle for free, at the hotel’s B2 Level car park’s newly installed, electric vehicle charger. Guests can now recharge for free at the eco-friendly Langham Place hotel.
