BE THANKFUL

16 December 2011

As the New Year nears, we count our blessings, are grateful for what we have, and continue to be conscious about giving back and giving to. Gifting a little in return goes a long way; let every season be of thanks, be it furnishings, food or lending a hand to someone. At Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong, the hotel has been actively donating resources to the Street Sleepers’ Shelter Society Trustees Incorporated over the past year and continues with this sparkling thanksgiving commitment to give back.

With over 200 places for the homeless and needy at three shelters in Wanchai, Yau Ma Tei and Sham Shui Po, the Street Sleepers’ Shelter Society’s warm gesture of free hospitality inspired the hotel to donate on a regular basis. Much needed bed sheets, chairs and bath amenities that the hotel no longer use are distributed to the shelters, providing warmth and essentials to help improve conditions at the shelter. Shaun Campbell, General Manager of the innovative lifestyle hotel, Langham Place, says, “We care about our community and the environment. Rather than send some of our leftover hospitality items to Hong Kong’s growing landfill, it’s a much greater good to be able to share these with the Street Sleepers’ Shelter Society to help those in need in our local community”.

The Street Sleepers’ Shelter Society, established for over 50 years in Hong Kong, is a social service organisation dedicated to providing shelter for the needy, 365 days a year. For more information, please contact +85....
