Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong Switches Off For Earth Hour 2013
22 March 2013
Green-chic lifestyle hotel, Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong will join the global community and participate in the annual anticipated “Lights Out” event, Earth Hour, on 23 March 2013 (Saturday) from 8:30 – 9:30pm.
The hotel actively takes the lead in the global eco-hospitality goal, continuing its efforts in embracing green initiatives. By participating in Earth Hour and contributing to a sustainable future, the hotel will switch off at least 7,000 lights in its forecourt, lobby, restaurants, bars, Chuan Spa and other public spaces, lighting up the hotel instead with 5,000 environmentally friendly, chemical-free, soy candles to reduce carbon emissions.
“Being part of Earth Hour for the fifth consecutive year, we endeavor to support this global movement to foster an initiative toward energy saving and sustainability,” says Shaun Campbell, general manager. “We actively plan and incorporate green initiatives into our signature hospitality programs and always encourage guests to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Our participation in Earth Hour is one of the best ways to communicate our commitment to sustainability.”
To be a part of Earth Hour with Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong and the rest of the earth, lights should be switched off at 8:30pm on 23 March 2013 for an hour.
