Tokoro – Robatayaki & Whisky Bar at Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong is set to stir the city’s dining scene with an exclusive six-course Joy of Sake dinner menu available from 1 March to 30 April 2013, unveiling the secrets of the appreciated rice wine favourite of many.
Showcasing the contemporary Japanese approach to sake and food pairing, the six-course feast features the freshest seasonal catch and ingredients to be matched with six premium sake to quench your thirst. The menu is available at HK$680, and with an additional HK$300 guests will also enjoy a pairing of six glasses of sake.
The dedicatedly designed menu leads with three creatively presented appetisers. These exquisite treats are recommended to pair with DASSAI 50% Centrifugal Separator Junmai Daiginjo and TEDORIGAWA YOSHIDA GURA Junmai Daiginjo to bring out their mild sweetness.
With exceptionally fresh and natural flavours, MASUMI SANKA Junmai Daiginjo, is a perfect match with the near-translucent Thin-Sliced Flounder, Fresh and Dried Cod Roe, Seaweed. The inclusion of both fresh and dried cod roe presents a harmonious textual contrast, truly reflecting Chef’s mastery of ingredients.
The luscious combo of Robatayaki (Cod Fish, Black Pepper; Black Angus Beef Skewer, Cherry Tomato, Spicy Egg Sauce; Taraba Crab, Ponzu Sauce) is then recommended to go with SOHOMARE KIMOTO Junmai Daiginjo, which is carefully brewed using the traditional Kimoto method to give a soft and slightly creamy taste to the palate.
Matching the golden-fried Kumamoto Oyster, Mehikari Fish Coated with Edamame, Caviar is the well-rounded RIHAKU Junmai Daiginjo for its clean and crisp acidity.
The dinner continues with the Sakura Chirasi Sushi with Japanese Sea Eel, Salmon Roe, Crab Meat Stick, Egg and a romantic touch of sakura, best served with the gentle and smooth DEWA-ZAKURA AIYAMA Junmai Daiginjo.
The journey of flavourful Japanese cuisine is finished with Passion Fruit Mousse, Passiona Fruit-Chocolate Crémeux, Green Tea Génoise, Green Tea Ice Cream.
The Joy of Sake dinner menu is available from 6:30pm daily at Tokoro – Robatayaki & Whisky Bar throughout March and April 2013.
