MINIMISING OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: WHAT WE’RE DOING

At Langham Place we love having fun, but when it comes to the environment it's time to get serious. Following is a bit about what we're doing to minimize our impact:

Public Area

-	Indoor Environmental Quality is certified to good level
-	Double glazed windows to help maintaining inside temperatures (and avoiding noise pollution)
-	Energy saving lightings are used in lobby and corridors
-	Use environmentally friendly detergent for cleaning
-	Maintain comfortable level temperature in the range of 20-25°C

Sleep

-	As part of the "Guests of the Earth" program, we let you control how frequently you wish to change your linen. Simply place the 'Change Me' card on your bed when you’d like clean sheets. This conserves our precious clean potable water.
-	Share our green performances and promote green lifestyle through our in-room My Place Magazine
-	Cut off electricity when the key card is removed to save electricity
-	Specially installed heat pumps which recover heat from our chillers. This means we only need to operate our boilers for kitchens and guest rooms only a few days in a year
-	Use treated sea water for toilet flushing

Eat/ Drink

-	Offer alternative shark-free menus and stop blue fin tuna
-	Collect and recycle plastics, paper, cans, glass beverage bottles, food, and energy saving lamps
-	In-house organic herbal garden that supply for our kitchen and bar use
-	Recycle all used cooking oils from our kitchens to biodiesel as fuel for our enviro-truck
-	iPad menus in restaurants to save paper from updating

Meet/ Celebrate

-	First hotel in Hong Kong to provide Electric Vehicle Charger for our guests.
-	Electronic signage for all banquet and meetings
-	Low carbon or organic dishes during tea break
-	Environmental conservation themed tea-break decoration
-	Offer green table setting options to reduce wastage
